Janez and Zdenka Zavec began professional winemaking in 1995. Today their sons Aleksander and Patrik continue the family project across four sites in Haloze. Many of the steep vineyards are terraced, on marl and sandstone left by the ancient Pannonian Sea. Organic fertiliser, flowering cover crops and mechanical cultivation care for the slopes. Skin-contact Pinot Gris and spontaneously fermented wines add texture to the region’s naturally fresh style.
