Orange wine

Orange wine is made by fermenting white grapes with their skins.

How it works

The skins stay with the juice instead of being removed early. They can contribute colour and a firm, drying mouthfeel. Oranges are not used to make it.

How to use this when choosing

Orange wines are not all equally intense or cloudy. If you want a gentle introduction, pay particular attention to descriptions of how firm or drying the wine feels.
