Grape mash

Grape mash is the mixture of juice, pulp, skins and seeds left after grapes are crushed.

How it works

The liquid and solid parts are still together in the vessel. Pressing separates juice from the solids, so crushing and pressing are different steps.

How to use this when choosing

If wine fermented on this mixture, the solid grape parts were present during fermentation. That describes production, not sweetness.
